RICH in words poor in DEEDS

B
hutan is a unique nation with its history and culture passed down for generations from the first settlement till date today. After the adoption of modernity as a major change from its long decadences of isolation by opening the country’s doors to the outside world, today nation experiences a drastic advancement in the field of economic development and technology. Though our country is very tiny nation between the two largest nations, India and China but we have a great ruler, kind citizen, rich culture, tradition and such a great political philosophy so called “Gross National Happiness” is the superb seminal vision for one and all. Because of uniqueness in cultural identity, Bhutan is protected from all internal and external instability and celebrated centenary tribute to mark the century of peace and prosperity in Bhutan. Thus, Bhutan is renowned as one of the last Shangri-la to the outside world today.
However, my greatest concern I have is what will be the future of Bhutan? Will it prosper graciously or extinguish its moral propagation is a food for thought for all individual to reflect globally and act locally. Bhutan enjoyed peace and prosperity under the benevolent monarch almost for a century. Yet, visionary king Jigme Singye Wangchuk has provided golden opportunity to its citizen to serve the country as better as possible by transforming into constitutional democratic monarchy. It is indeed a good game for politician, freedom for irresponsible person and rare opportunity for true son of the soil. Influence of western culture and adoption of modernization, sometimes upshots unethical effects on culture and humanity.  Though it is indispensable strategy for economic growth and developmental activities, but gradually, people tends to change their attitudes towards their life, way of living, or lifestyle, way of thinking, consumption priority and so on- People are becoming more complacent, individualistic and devote to materialism. Social issues like corruption, thief and robbery, divorce, rape, murder, unemployment and many other unexpected issues are accentuating one after another and world or society in particular is never a secured place to dwell, as daughter cannot trust her father these days.
Billy Graham, 1963 claims that “We are rich in the things that perish, but poor in the things of the spirits. We are rich in gadgets, but poor in faith. We are rich in goods, but poor in grace, we are rich in knowledge, but poor in character. We are rich in words, but poor in deeds. We say we are rich but in the god’s estimate we are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked”.
The quote aptly implies to the phenomenon of human nature. As a social being, we have an ability to judge, examine and comprehend our own thought processes, do’s and don’ts, pros and cons and cause and effect of our life in deeper sense. However, knowingly or accidentally we always follow the false trait rather than what we are suppose to be. God has given only one face and heart to wear for all times. Some tends to act just opposite. People in the past were innocent but they were brave and exhibited the truth through loyalties and worthy patriotic action. They have shed blood and sweats to shape the nation and preserved for future younger generation. But the people of today are becoming more intellectually active influenced by materialistic world but depicts laziness in action. Our intelligence is vindicating in words and poor in deeds. For instance, teachers and students seems more conscious and sensitive about the world around us but teachers are  defeated to practice what they preach, and students are unable to practice what they have learned. The wisdom they posses simply remain idle in beauty of terms and do not bring any change even after knowing most of the genuine facts. Politician and bureaucrats plan a book of policies and strategies but most of them are failing to implement successfully.
Disappearing of our cultural values and its image is another contradictory example, because people just comprehend and talk or write some thing about significance and vitality under four pillar of GNH, but hardly people engage to contribute for promoting and preserving the culture. For example; everyone knows that gho and kira is the national dress of Bhutan but it is becoming just an official dress for the office goers, Schools and institutions that too under compulsion. For rest of the place, be it a formal or informal, people rarely come in our proper national dress, rather displays a fascinating fashion of their consideration. Therefore, there is urgent need of certain system and solutions to keep hold of our culture alive. Otherwise, just someone knowing, speaking and writing will never promote our culture. If you happen to attend a seminar on GNH or visit schools, institutes and public area, definitely one would hear or notice the catchphrase, motto or labels like Green School, Green and Clean Bhutan…wonderful and striking idea. Another wonder I have notice is cleaning, maintenance and setups are carried out infrequently when there is only visits of VIPs and other functional events.
If the goal of “One Nation One People” adopts by all individual and join hands to preserve and promote our identity, Bhutan will  definitely remain young forever. If the citizens of today are merely popular in saying and don’t act practically, when evils scatters latter, Bhutan will never remain as Bhutan for tomorrow.   Democracy does not mean we have the freedom to act whatever way we like. It is everyone’s responsibilities to safeguard our nation. Bhutan is Buddhist community of the greatest and perhaps most seminal of all Buddhistic deeds. Therefore, trends should not be disappeared or forgotten. Yesterday is gone; we leave today and tomorrow is unpredictable. Let us be rich in words and rich in deeds as well in all things that we confront. Let us be Bhutanese, act as Bhutanese and live as Bhutanese.

How do I love you?

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love you to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love you to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love you freely, as men strive for right.
I love purely purely, as they turn from praise.
I love you with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love you with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love you with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love you better after death.

How do i love you?

victim of fate

Blind fate
It was just an incessant imagination and fantasy during the late winter and early spring which date backs to a tale of a few years ago, while karma was doing plus II at Mongar H.S.S. but the story continues as here it reads:
Karma was found with a book every time reading so dirly, but hardly quells the first sentence of the page. In between the two words, he stares a rapturous scene where Tshering seems like an angel walking beautifully with her lapis-lazuli eyes and floating silky hair.
At the very first sight, he felt head over heels for her so impetuously. He was completely lost in her so perfect and peerless paragon. His mind was preoccupied and stunned by her outlooks. His heart fills with mysterious pleasure.
After a long silence, he noticed the last word of the page he was reading, but nothing was there in his mind to construct a meaning from the text. He burst himself like a fool and whirled his head as if remembering someone around him. After a clear consciousness it was acquainted as a mere ludicrous daydream in lieu of reading. Yet, he was left in qualms waiting for next happenstance to befall.
As Tshering seems really a perfect girl with looks so intoxicating which cause him to forget his own world, as if transported to a place where trees never sheds their leaves, the sun once risen never sets and know no sorrows. Her tender smile beacon his ultimate breath. But his unexpressed feeling was secret for the period of limbo. So his inner sentiments fainted into memory and pains into melodious tune for several days.
Tshering was every time only the figure in his dream. He assumes that he will be behind her in an enchanting Redaza valley under its fleecy clouds floating above and its lovely sunset glory over the hills of Nangzor.
No sooner after a couple of days, he just beat about the bush to seize her response whether she would really become his dream girl forever or not. His approach appeared quite successful as she was taking the things positively with implausible words. Thus, his heart got lifted from the busy tension to the breezy blossom, however, the intimacy took snail’s pace to mature.
Towards the end of the year, reality turns with graciously or ungraciously with a hilarious reminiscence from sending and opening wishing card for their exam. Karma’s exam was already ended several days before her exam. In fact, it was Tshering to send him a large portrait of two ladies with few messages written on it. He was utterly quizzed to receive such a card. He thought she might have sent sarcastically to convey her reluctance. In spite of wishing card, it has somehow manifested a hostile card. There upon he realized that he must stop hoping for her even if he could not stop loving her. It dawned on him that if they were not meant for each other and if she never loves him, no force on earth could bring them together. Neither his overpowering love, nor his hope piled on hope would count.
However, her exam was just beginning. He thought to take retaliation. So he compiled several papers and wrote witty things willfully with marker pen. He wrapped it with tattered file and pasted many stamps which were already used before and forwarded to her.
Indeed, she has done out of her simplicity, love and affection towards him. But then he misunderstood the message and thought that he is betrayed by her. So when they were about to get closer, they were parted with bizarre affair because of the card. Nevertheless, Tshering did not mind his innocent conviction and turned off her sight towards him, but never came forward to confess her feelings as she is quite timid and shy to face the dude.
The days went on counting; karma’s passion was deserting day by day but her image was never eliminating from his inner most shrine of heart. After a couple of months, the rumor divulged out of the blue that Dechen is pregnant and karma is responsible for the matter. He was caught and compelled to marry her as he doesn’t have any prove of evidence and alternative to desist from it. He was sullenly depressed and feels no joy at all. He was left solitarily without a word to describe and express his emotional humiliation of desolate life.
Few days later Tshering heard that karma is now engage with Dechen. The moment she heard about, she was vexed and felt mystified but remained silent in dismal mood. Lhendup, Tshering’s cousin brother had shared the condition to karma. He was thunderstruck for a moment and immediately wrote her the message as follows:
Dear Tshering,
Don’t be surprised to receive this epstile. I am karma begging your consideration and forgiveness. Since our fate is blind I didn’t fathom your feelings and I thought we are out of sight forever. I have never doubt that your eyes and ears are still open to me. But now you know that I am caught in a terrible incident. I have no other way other than to wear two faces. I would say it is not true and possible. If there is will there is way. Please, forgive my mistake. This is just and an unfortunate circumstance bestowed on us. It will not be fallible forever. I am in my own world. You will come to know more about my affair with you and her later. so believe me, I promise you. Bye!
In this way, Tshering favored him and resumed their intimacy once again but karma with two role. He has been a real protagonist in his short troublesome romantic endurance. By then, karma had completed his studies without great impediments. Karma’s affair with Tshering was confidential and not known by anyone. But on other hand Dechen never kept quit because ever since his agreement, he had never visited her. Possibly Dechen knew that he might ignore her after sometime. So she forwarded the case to the district court and finally resolved by paying her allowance as per the law of the court.
By then ultimately the horrific and soppy stumbling block were from his soul and stubbornly append to Tshering. Overcoming so many awful and frightful obstacles, now their affair was united by indissoluble bond in which their life and happiness are engraved and wrapped in their heart.

While everything is fine, phlegmatic and quite, they were separated by the miles of distance where karma undergoes training in the west while Tshering still continues her school in the east. If their fate grants their prayers they are destine to meet in the land of eternal peace and harmony. Thus love is the most powerful and magical force in the universe and there is nowhere to display its beauty and wonder more than in the intimate relationship between the two souls.

Some love endures for a life time, others are destined for a while, and some are separated by choice or by fate. But one thing is true whatever the outcome may be, when love enters our lives, it never leaves without transforming us at the depth of our being. Sometimes it reveals in the unmatched levels of understanding and friendships we share with our mate. Sometime it is what is said, and sometimes deeply felt, sometimes it is obstacle we must face it together, and sometimes it is how we feel our joy. When love can be experienced, it seems utterly sublime, inviting you new world of passion and oneness you have never knew before. Love itself reflect every season, mood and color of emotion. There is no miracle greater than love. It is the god’s most precious gift to us.

Similarly, their parents, relatives and friends had a wish for them that karma and Tshering may open their heart, uplift their mind, inspire their spirits and be a sweet companion to their own hearts journey. And may their life be blessed with love forever. But after seven years of tight relationship, their relation gave a way to  face the unexpected curse of the blind fate. Dreams were shattered beyond repair. The twist of fate gave him hard experience to begin the story form the beginning...

brief history

In the lives of---
Towards the end of withering autumn and beginning of shriveling winter, I came to exist as human being from the inner world of mother’s womb to the outer world of realities on 6th day of eleventh month 1984. I hail from a very deprived family background and never received what others receives even after twenty-six years of rigorous ride for endurance on this planet. At the age of twenty, my mother was expired and my life became more miserable, challenging and quite complicated. My life was perhaps blissful in the early hours of childhood days, as an innocent child. When the kids of same age were in the school studying in class III, I was still struggling as a cowboy with my grandfather in the village.
However, with hard and pessimistic decision, fortune seems in favor of me. I was the first child to receive education among three elder and three younger siblings. In 1993, I was admitted to school in Mongar Primary School and completed class XII from Mongar Higher Secondary School in 2005, with Arts background. I was never an elegant student in the class, yet, never failed despite of various factors affecting his learning.
My area of interest and hobbies surrounds around reading philosophical books, watch educational movies, listening to emotional songs and music, visiting pilgrims, playing traditional games, travelling and adventuring.
As a student, I constantly dreamed to become a teacher one day and serve my parents, government and country in my own way. I am very emotional and possess a tender heart. I never fear of failure to face any aspects of bitter consequences. I describe myself as hardworking and committed in my work, time conscious, compassionate, tolerant, and approachable but introvert and quite timid. I believe in fate and in god and lead a simple way of life style.
My life scarcely swings up the hills of thrills and glory, but frequently plunges down the dizzying twist and turns of thorny valleys over perilous cliff. I have volumes to speak and share, but situation and circumstances never persuade me to open up. Most of the time, I am left without a word to express my true essence of life. Owing to destitute family and broken family relationship, I  encountered numerous obstacles and a wall of distraction that cause me to suffer from severe emotional depression and mental trauma. One of the indelible and unanticipated incidents in 2005, even compelled me to suicide out of desperation. The more I long for the best, the trouble prolongs. However, I know that is an immoral perception of abandoning or liberating from mysteriously miserable part of life.
The more I come across the pang of disgusting experiences, better I discover all aspects of life and grows cognitively, intellectually, emotionally, affectively, and socially to deal with every uncertain facet of life. Thus, I wear two faces to remain alive among others. Nobody knows my existence in actuality.
Nevertheless, as my dream was to become a teacher, I am presently undergoing a Bachelor of Education programme at Paro College of Education. Despite of so many commotions, eventually, I am optimistically awaiting for the day to celebrate my success and tranquil. I have a need, a dream and profound prayers for everyone as others. I aspire to become a model and light in the darkness to somebody’s entire life. May my dreams be accomplished to render my service and earn living. As I live each day, may I do my part to make difference and bring smiles into everybody’s soul. I am known as Karma Phuntsho, a man of auspicious fate.
